Patrick Casey
CEO
Pat has more than 30 years of management and communications experience. He and his team help state transportation agencies and other clients improve the effectiveness of their programs through management consulting, research and writing services, publication and Web design, and training. He is a member of the Conduct of Research Committee of the Transportation Research Board. Previously, Pat was general manager of a petroleum research and testing laboratory where he led efforts to achieve ISO 9001 quality management certification and initiated Internet marketing efforts. He also served in leadership staff roles for state and federal elected officials and worked as a teacher and education administrator. He has a bachelor's degree in English from Michigan State University.

Kimberly Linsenmayer
COO
Kim has 14 years of experience in writing, research and project management. She has leadership and management responsibility for all CTC & Associates clients and projects, with a focus on policy research programs, newsletters, pooled fund projects, peer exchanges, and marketing communications. Kim's background includes technical writing and project coordination for Optimization Alternatives, a Texas firm that develops operations management systems for the transportation industry. She also worked as a copywriter for American Girl, collaborating with designers on print and online marketing communications and serving as a content strategist and copywriter for American Girl’s e-commerce site redesign. Kim has a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Michigan.

Andrea Thomas
Editing and Writing Manager
Andrea has 11 years of research, writing and editing experience. At CTC & Associates, she oversees editing for all deliverables, writes feature stories and manages client projects. Previously, Andrea was a senior copywriter for American Girl, where she wrote catalog and e-commerce copy for the company's core brands. She has also worked as an assistant editor at Assembly magazine and at Agronomy Journal. Andrea began her career working as a news reporter at the Northwest Herald (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and completing internships at the Miami Herald, Cincinnati Enquirer and Buffalo News. She has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

Brian Hirt
Research and Writing Manager
Brian has 14 years of writing and communications experience in the transportation field. His work at CTC & Associates includes research and writing on national transportation issues, development of research program management manuals and online tracking tools, marketing communications, and management of client projects. Prior to working for CTC & Associates, Brian performed marketing services for several magazines published by the AAA motor club. He also worked as a communications consultant and Webmaster for the electric vehicle business unit of the Electric Power Research Institute in Palo Alto, Calif. Brian has a bachelor's degree in linguistics from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also has a master's degree in math and science education from the University of Nebraska.

Mark Linsenmayer
Research and Writing Manager
Mark has been a technical communications professional since 2000. At CTC & Associates, he researches and writes on a wide range of transportation issues, writes and produces video research briefs and manages client projects. In previous positions, he performed information management, Web site development, creation of technical articles for industry publications, development and editing of white papers and technical configuration documents, requests for proposals, software documentation, patent applications, and copywriting. He earned master's degrees in both philosophy and library science from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Kirsten Seeber
Program Management Associate
Kirsten has 10 years of experience in marketing, research and project management. Her work at CTC & Associates includes marketing communications, pooled fund administration, meeting planning and Web design. Previously, Kirsten worked in product development, marketing and project management positions at companies such as EraGen Biosciences, TDS Telecom and Carlson Marketing Group. She also has varied experience with customer service and the creation and execution of employee training programs. Kirsten has a bachelor’s degree in American studies from the University of Minnesota.

Maggie Sacco
Library and Information Services Associate
Maggie has 12 years of experience as a professional librarian. At CTC & Associates, she serves as the technical services librarian for the Transportation Library Connectivity pooled fund study, aimed at helping establish a national Transportation Knowledge Network. Previously, Maggie worked in academic, corporate and public libraries, including positions at the University of Tampa, Tyco Healthcare Mallinckrodt, and St. Louis County. She has experience with a variety of integrated library systems, OCLC products, and online databases, and has developed Web-based library resources. Maggie has a master's degree in library science and a bachelor's degree in political science from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Tom Martinelli
Program Management Associate
Tom is a professional engineer with 34 years of experience in project management and research coordination at governmental agencies. At CTC & Associates he coordinates policy research projects from problem solicitation to investigator selection through final report and implementation. Before joining CTC & Associates, Tom was the state winter maintenance engineer and winter research project manager for Wisconsin DOT. In previous positions at WisDOT he served as a highway maintenance engineer, a research project engineer in the department’s Applied Research Unit, and as a highway design and construction project engineer. He also worked as project manager and Assistant Director of Public Works for Dane County, Wisconsin. Tom has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin.

Chris Kline
Research and Writing Associate
Chris has 20 years of project management, research and communications experience, and four years of experience as a professional librarian. Her work at CTC & Associates includes research and writing on a wide range of transportation issues. Previously, Chris worked in academic libraries, including positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, with a focus on managing online databases and other electronic resources used in research. She also worked as a communications consultant and has varied experience in the financial services industry that includes marketing, project management and staff development. Chris has a master’s degree in library science from the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Wes Alwan
Research and Writing Associate
Wes has 15 years of experience in communications, research and education. His work at CTC & Associates includes research and writing on various transportation issues, as well as Web project management. Before coming to CTC & Associates he was a new media strategist consulting with federal government clients to develop Web-based training and public information multimedia. Wes also has experience in science journalism, technical writing and information technology. He has a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in the history and philosophy of science from St. John’s College, Annapolis.

Dylan Casey
Research and Writing Associate
Dylan has 19 years of research, writing and teaching experience. He is a tenured faculty member at St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland, a four-year liberal arts college utilizing an all-required curriculum and the classic works of philosophy, history, science and mathematics. His work at CTC & Associates includes research, writing and survey work on various transportation topics. Previously, as a postdoctoral fellow in experimental particle physics he was a member of the D0 Collaboration (“Dzero”) at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Illinois. Dylan has a bachelor of arts degree in political theory and a bachelor of science degree in physics from Michigan State University. His PhD in experimental particle physics is from the University of Rochester.

Colleen Bos

Colleen has 10 years of experience in communication and project management. At CTC & Associates she oversees policy research projects, coordinates peer exchanges and manages the 15-state Clear Roads pooled fund project. Her background includes technical writing, project management and coordinating third-party relationships for Epic Systems Corp., a healthcare software company where she also served as a team leader of the proposal department. Colleen also teaches business communication and other writing classes for the University of Phoenix. She has a master's degree in history from Northwestern University and a master's degree in medieval studies from Western Michigan University, and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
