Research program development

Research can be a valuable tool for solving transportation problems – if the research program is closely connected to the other parts of the organization. CTC supports research managers in reorienting their programs to focus on customer needs. We provide experienced support at every stage of the research cycle from problem identification to application of results. Examples of how we can help:

  • Facilitate and document discussions with senior management to surface strategic research needs and build awareness of what the research program can accomplish.

  • Coordinate brainstorming workshops among work groups to generate project ideas.

  • Help develop tailored systems for managing research projects throughout their lifecycles, from problem statement to RFP, investigator selection, quarterly reports, final deliverables, and implementation.

  • Write program management manuals and detailed procedures for every step of the process.

  • Coordinate research peer exchanges, including agenda development, meeting solicitation, logistics and final report.

  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy for promoting the value of the research program internally and externally.
